CSA Delivery and Price Information

As a member of Appalachia Star Farm's vegetable subscription, you will receive a box of vegetables every week for 22 weeks beginning the last week of May.  On Mondays we deliver boxes to Charlottesville at Albemarle Baking Company located at 418 West Main Streetmap.  Boxes are available for pick-up from 12 noon until 1:30pm.

Nelson County boxes are available on Thursday.  Boxes may be picked-up on our farm in Roseland, near the intersection of Rt. 151 and 56 West (163 Shaeffers Hollow Lane).  We also drop off boxes at the Rockfish Valley Community Center on Rt. 151 for pick-up.  Boxes are available for pick-up anytime after 2pm at both locations.  The RVCC closes at 5pm on Thursdays.

Members also receive our weekly e-newsletter full of recipes, vegetable information, special events, and updates.  In addition, we will host 2 farm events plus volunteer days during the season for members to come out to the farm for potluck and fun!  One of these events is our annual Tomato Tasting, where we sample and rate up to 20 varieties of heirloom, hybrid, and cherry tomatoes!

What We Grow

Here is a sampling of the vegetables we grow and approximately how much of each item you will receive.  Spring and early summer boxes will have things like greens, lettuce, scallions, cabbage, broccoli, and asparagus.  Summer boxes include items like garlic, onions, potatoes, tomatoes, eggplant, okra, squash, and cucumbers.  In the fall, there will be peppers, beans, greens, turnips, winter squash, and many summer vegetables (depending on frost conditions).
